In the penultimate episode of season 1, the Sheriff, sidelined from the investigation at the insistence of the freshly arrived State Militia, still attempts to eradicate the creature once and for all. Working on a hunch by the good doctor, Sheriff Flynn, Dr. Cooper, and Hattie Ogle travel to an unexpected location where they discover the awful truth of what, exactly, is behind the bloodshed.
